Trump has a history of making outrageous comments and tweets, but on Wednesday he went too far.
Trump said that Texas’ new abortion law is a “horrible idea,” and that it would “kill women.”
“Texas, we need to repeal the barbaric HB2, and we need it NOW.
#TexasLegislature,” he tweeted.
“The American people deserve to know what is in the law.
The #Republican Party needs to take the lead on this issue, and now.
#Trump2016″ The Texas Tribune thanks its sponsors.
Texas law, signed by Republican Gov.
Greg Abbott in 2017, requires women seeking abortions to have a doctor’s note to prove they want an abortion and require doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their home.
Trump has called the law a “very cruel thing” that is killing women and their unborn children.
He has said that he will sign the bill if the Texas legislature passes it, which is not expected.
Trump, who was born in New York City, tweeted the tweets Wednesday, one day after a meeting with Texas Gov.
Kenneth Paxton, the Democrat running for Senate in the state.
Paxton said he supports the bill, and that Trump “should stop attacking our great state and its women.”
He told reporters that he plans to visit the state in coming days and is “looking forward to seeing the incredible job our state is doing to help the people of Texas.”
Trump, the Republican nominee for president in 2016, has had a rocky relationship with the state’s Democratic governor.
He frequently derided the state for the way it handles abortion, saying the procedure is “killing women and children.”
“Governor Abbott just made the point that he thinks that Texas is a terrible place to get an abortion, but he doesn’t know anything about Texas.
He’s never visited the state, he never went to school there,” Trump said.
He added: “I think the abortion rate in Texas is at a very high level, and I think if you go down, and you have to go down to Texas to get a free abortion, you’re killing women, and children, and young people.
It’s a horrible idea.
In an interview with NBC News last week, Abbott said he thinks the law is “wrong” and that abortion is a constitutionally protected right. “
If you go into the state and you go and you take a free woman to an abortion clinic, you’ll probably get a very good abortion.”
In an interview with NBC News last week, Abbott said he thinks the law is “wrong” and that abortion is a constitutionally protected right.
“As a matter of fact, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the right to an abortifacient is not absolute,” he said.
“And I believe that if we don’t take a look at the law, and if we have a debate, we can see where Texas is in that regard.”
Trump’s tweets were not the first time he used the word “horrific.”
He used the same term in a tweet on March 23, 2017, as he has since.
Trump also called abortion “a horrible thing,” and said the abortion law would “destroy our state.”
“This is a horrible thing.
If we get the abortion, we’re going to destroy our state.
It would be devastating,” Trump told the New York Times.
